I’ve got a depression deep inside my head,
It goes beyond the curls and folds,
It wishes I were dead.
I raise my thoughts in an attempt at self defense,
The defenses hold,
But I’m stuck in limbo.
If a war is what you want,
A war is what you deserve,
The troops march from nerve to nerve,
The 23 year war,
Is nearing year 24,
And I don't know if the troops can take it anymore.
I am the darkness that you see,
When you close your eyes,
From your dark and lonely sleep.
I am what creeps,
Slinking underneath your bed,
Awaiting your next move,
Shot for shot,
Blow for blow
We will both lose.
If a war is what you want,
A war is what you deserve,
The troops march from nerve to nerve,
The 23 year war,
Is nearing year 24,
And I don't know if the troops can take it anymore.

Goddamn Mountain
03:08
|
|||
God, I miss staring at that goddamn mountain,
Its snow-capped peaks towering far past the clouds,
In solitude I would sit on a lonely hill,
Mesmerized by beauty that most would never see,
But within the bowels of that goddamn mountain,
The lava churns and boils with aplomb,
The hills that surround know the tales of its rage,
For the mountain is what gave them their place.
The lava carves out valleys and destroys all the land,
It tears down the trees with blood stained hands,
Soot fills the lungs of those living in its shadow,
From Oregon to Boston the debris is blown.
There’s only so much snow can do,
To hide you and your truths
It wishes that it could be a more compassionate friend,
But the rumblings within bring those hopes to an end,
If only we could stop that goddamn mountain,
But you can’t change a mind set in stone.
There’s only so much snow can do,
To hide you and your truths.

Some Unholy Action
03:56
|
|||
Father, son, unholy ghost,
Sacrifice, become the host,
Feel the heat coarse through your veins,
Death and power, one in the same,
Hell on Earth is coming soon,
Let it loose, unleash the tomb,
Sadness gone, goodbye fear,
Bloodlust is all that remains here.
A faction good, a faction bad,
Endless discourse, it’s all been had,
Fire and brim, or seraphim,
Doesn’t matter when it never ends,
Both sides battle to see who reigns,
Ground and sky, one in the same,
And if we have to pick one,
Might as well have some fun.
Death on high and from below,
Who knows where my soul will go,
Logically, in my eyes,
All of this heat must rise.
Man the troops! We fight for one!
Kill the leader! The bastard son!
Push them back! Make them retreat!
Kill them all! Suffer defeat!
The end of days has come and gone,
Who cares who was right and wrong,
Heaven, Hell, and Earth destroyed,
Both plans falsely deployed,
Unstoppable forces were stopped,
Immovable objects were rocked,
Heaven retreats, hell stays put,
End them now, at least we should,
I fly to fight the son and prince,
Their army turns, I meet with grins,
Why should they get space and time,
Earth only the frontline,
We begin the assault,
Faith was your biggest fault.
Still hiding in the clouds,
Is that where your god is now?
Death on high and from below,
I know where my soul will go,
Logically, in my eyes,
All of this heat must rise.
Man the troops! We fight for one!
Kill the leader! The bastard son!
Push them back! Make them retreat!
Kill them all! Suffer defeat!

It's fucked up that her voice soothes me,
As she calmly recounts her past stories,
She gets closer to the mic,
To emphasize details I'd rather not hear,
But dammit I wanna hear it,
DAMMIT I WANNA HEAR IT
You've turned your pain into something great,
And although I'll never relate,
I'm forever thankful for you relaxing me,
I'm sorry for your past,
But I need some sleep
Your poetry calms my nerves,
I hear you expertly dance around words,
I shouldn't enjoy this,
Contemplating why you should exist,
But dammit I wanna hear it,
DAMMIT I WANNA HEAR IT
You've turned your pain into something great,
And although I'll never relate,
I'm forever thankful for you relaxing me,
I'm sorry for your past,
But I need some sleep

Cult (With A "V")

I hate the sound of my voice,
But I've grown used to it,
I play underpar,
My chops have all gone to shit,
But therapy is expensive,
And this treatment pays in beer,
So I'll lay out my insecurities,
For all of you to hear.
I don't care if you like this,
I just want you to like this,
It's just as much for me as it is for you,
I don't care if you like this,
I just want you to like this,
Such a confusing truth.
The music needs to be loud,
To drown myself out,
And if I scream and I yell,
You won't be able to tell,
That I'm a fucking mess,
And that my mind is split,
So I'll hide myself,
Behind this goddamn riff.
I don't care if you like this,
I just want you to like this,
It's just as much for me as it is for you,
I don't care if you like this,
I just want you to like this,
Such a confusing truth.

Today is the most important day
Because you decided to stay
Here with the rest of us.
Well I'm glad you celebrate consistency
Cuz I should be partying constantly
Inglorious.
Laugh it off,
Don't be so sad,
I would if I could,
why don't you get that?
Do you think I enjoy this?
Dangling off the precipice,
Of depression.
I'm sorry. I wanna stop,
But my efforts are all for not,
Frustration.
Laugh it off,
Don't be so sad,
I would if I could,
why don't you get that?

Fault Lines
03:28
|
|||
I leave my home for distant lands,
To save us from tyrannical hands,
But the thought of leaving my love behind,
Is worse than going blind,
At least that way when I return,
I wouldn't see that my village is burned,
There's a letter left in the last remaining urn,
It's all my fault I shouldn't have left (It's not your fault),
now I have caused her death,
It's all my fault I pray to the gods (It's not your fault),
Why would they allow these wrongs?
This life goes by oh so quick,
Because time is oh so swift,
Without you girl I might as well end it (So John please don't end it).
Dear Johnathan,
They're breaking in,
And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't frightened,
Not of death but of an afterlife,
Where I'm without my husband and you're without your wife,
They're inside and it won't be long,
Until I am dead and gone,
So please, remember John...

Ash Williams San Diego, California
Ash Williams is a punk band that wishes it was a black metal band. Instead of fjords, we have sandy beaches here in San Diego, but don’t let that fool you. The ocean is the most destructive force on the planet and it will eventually swallow us all. We live near it for we do not fear death. ... more
